Katherine Phipps

Miss Columbus 2009

     In August, eighteen year old Katherine Phipps was crowned Miss Columbus. Phipps's leadership is exemplified in her positions as class president and National Honors Society President. As a 4.0 GPA honor student, Phipps was honored to receive the Senior Superlative Miss Upson Lee. Phipps is a past Youth Leadership Upson Alumni and represented her community at the Hugh O¢ Brian Youth Leadership Conference at Oglethorpe University in 2007. A dancer, Phipps enjoys expressing herself in tap, jazz, and ballet, an art form she has studied for 12 years.    An avid athlete, Phipps runs and plays tennis to stay in shape.  Katherine is a founder of two Girl Talk Mentoring Programs. As a Susan G. Komen Central Georgia Affiliate, Katherine promotes Cancer Awareness.
