Tracy Williams

Miss Columbus Outstanding Teen 2006

Tracy will be entering her sophomore year at Harris County High School come fall. She currently has a grade point average of 3.8, but with the help of her counselor and teachers, she is working towards retaining her 4.0 average. She has had perfect attendance from first through ninth grade, and was devastated when she had to miss a week of school, for the first time, due to pneumonia. Some of her scholastic honors include all “As” from first through seventh grade (made an 88 in Algebra I, a ninth grade class), winning science awards from the year 2003-2005, winning English awards in the years 1998-2001 and 2003, and being in the gifted and honor program since the first grade. Tracy was also selected as the female representative of her high school to compete in the Literary competition as the essay writer. One of her favorite honors, however, is being voted most likely to succeed by her class of 2009.

Along with competing in the Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen Pageant this summer, Tracy will be attending her third National Junior Leadership Conference with the Lead America Organization in the area of law this July. In 2004, her first year, she attended the one held in Washington, DC where she had the opportunity to tour the area, as well as prepare for the mock trial. She was one of five out of hundreds to receive the Outstanding Attorney award. The following year, she attended the one held in Boston Massachusetts, where she was one of five out of hundred to win the Outstanding Witness award. Having the dream of attending Harvard University to become a prosecuting attorney since the fifth grade, Tracy is excited about this year’s upcoming conference in New York.
Working to promote her platform, the blessing of freedom of speech, Tracy has given speeches and worked with her civics class to promote this important issue. Her thoughts are that regardless of one’s race, religion, or gender, everyone should be to voice their opinions and have access to this right. She is currently thinking about starting a debate club at her school.
Tracy’s interest include playing the piano, modeling, going to the mall, talking on the phone, participating in mock trails, going to the movies, and being able to hang out with her friends and family. She loves being able to laugh at nothing and bring a smile to people’s faces
